Description
The GY-2561 TSL2561 Luminosity Sensor Light Intensity Module is a high-precision digital light sensor that measures visible and infrared light to give a reliable lux reading similar to how the human eye perceives brightness.
Unlike basic photoresistors, the TSL2561 uses a digital I²C interface for stable, accurate data and supports programmable gain and integration time, making it suitable for both low-light and bright sunlight environments.
It’s ideal for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or any microcontroller project that needs to sense or adjust to ambient light conditions — from automatic lighting systems and display brightness control to environmental monitoring, IoT nodes, and robotic applications.
Features:
-
Dual photodiodes for visible + infrared measurement
-
Wide dynamic range (0.1 lux – 40,000+ lux)
-
Programmable gain and integration time
-
I²C digital output for easy connection to Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, etc.
-
Compact and low-power design
Perfect for: smart lighting, plant growth monitoring, home automation, and weather stations.
